Once again I'll be working the 8-4 shift that day so I will not be there in person but will be there in spirit.

For those who can attend ride safely.

Kaz, what road are you going to take?
Don't know yet if I'll have to go to the airport, but if not I'd like to tag along. I live west of Cove.

From west of Cove going to Killeen first doesn't make much sense for me (I live west of Cove), not to mention having to fight Cove traffic and that darn construction site between Cove and Killeen and all those sweet grooves (hate them!).

So I'm wondering if someone might be going from the Lampasas / Kempner / Cove area?

Either going from 190 to FM2657 (just west of Cove) and from there to Oakalla, and then from there to Burnet?

Or maybe Kempner and 190, and then a little road (never know the number, just know where it is) that hooks up with the road coming from Oakalla?

Or perhaps from Lampasas to Burnet?

I still don't know whether or not I'll be able to go or will have to go to airport instead, but If someone is going to Burnet on one of these roads, lemme know, please?

TX Angel, I don't know if you're aware that other vehicles are welcome too, and not just bikes?
I'm just mentioning it in case you can't find a ride with someone and didn't know that cars (or pickups) are welcome too.

Jerry, thanks. Not sure yet what I'm gonna do, but will try to ride with people who take the Oakalla route. Like what Big Country is planning to do...if he ever will get over that cold he has.

But why do you leave at such an odd time, 1139? Or is this a certain house number?

Btw, got the following info by email about staging etc. I'm sure many got it too, but for all those who didn't and don't know times, here's a copy:

-------------------------------------------

The PGR has been officially asked to take a major part in this event by the Veteran's Wife.
This will be posted to Memorial Missions

When: Saturday, December 1, 2007 Service starts at 1:00 pm.

Where: Cemetary of the Hills, located on Park Road 4 between Burnet and Marble Falls, Texas.

What: Memorial Services for Homer Smith Palmer, USN, USA, USAAF, USAF Retired.

The PGR has been asked by this Veteran's family to attend and be a major part of the services for this American Hero.
Mr. Palmer was born Aug 10, 1925 and entered the USN in 1942 at the age of 17. He served in the European Theatre and was working with the Seebees.
He then transferred to the USA, and then to the USAAF. One of his postings was to Sapson AAF, New York, and then entered the USAF and served, among other places, Alaska.
One of Mr Palmer's jobs was of extreme importance, especially to the other Service Members he was assigned with...........he was a cook, and we all know that without those heros, our forces would grind to a halt!

This family has seen the Patriot Guard in action at this cemetery and in other events. They very much want us to surround this Hero with our red, white, and blue, as well as our hearts. We will provide a flag line at the cemetery, as well as provide accompanyment for the procession. The Honors ceremony with the Flag Folding Recitation will be done by the Hill Country Honor Guard. There will also be TAPS and hopefully, bagpipes.

For those of you who have been on Park Road 4 before, you know how beutiful a ride it is, and what a wonderful place that cemetery is. If you have not been there before you will be in for a treat, as well as serving your Brother Veteran.

Staging: Staging will be at the VFW Post 6974, in Burnet, which is on Hwy 29 west of Hwy 281, on the right side as you go out of town. Staging will be from 11:00am to Noon, with KSU by 12:10 pm.

More info will follow as we get closer to the date.
RC will be Bill Olsen
Asst RC is John Wiley
