Here's what we've learned in the past couple hours since first contact:

Spc Burkett is due to arrive at Brownwood Regional Airport on Wednesday morning 19 March 2008. The common thought is that he'll arrive before noon. So those wishing to honor Spc Burkett will need to depart the Fort Hood area early that morning.

There will be a dress rehearsal in Brownwood Regional Airport on Tuesday, 18 March 2008, at 1500 hours, that will be attended by RC Monster.

A viewing will be held in Brownwood, TX on Thursday, 20 March 2008 all day at Hartland Funeral Home and Crematorium in Early, Texas. Sorry, we don't have an address or phone number for the Funeral Home yet.

Friday, 21 March 2008: Accompanyment ride from Hartland Funeral Home and Crematorium in Early, Texas to Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery. Planned departure time from Early is 1200 hours with interment in CTSVC NLT 1500 hours.

We'll have more information posted soon...

Steve

BIG THANKS TC!!!!! I couldn't find it.

I have also found an RC from the Brownwood area. He'll be invaluable for this mission. He'll be the lead in Brownwood with JW's asst. because he's only done one mission as RC, but he knows the town and area.

His name is Carl Carroll. His phone number is 352-642-6051

Monster and JW should contact Carl ASAP to keep him up to date with what y'all find on your recons. I know y'all are doing the work and he'll be the lead RC, but that's how it goes sometimes. It's all for the good!

We need an RC or someone to step forward to handle the CTSVC portion of the mission on Friday. This will require arranging for flags at the CTSVC and organizing the staging there as well as cemetery setup.

contact Steve or Dorothee if you're willing and able to serve the Burkett family and your fellow PGR members.

Killeen/Copperas Cove Staging for Wednesday Escort, 19 March will be at the Town Square shopping plaza in Copperas Cove. It's located on Hwy 190, near the west end of town, located on the right side if you are coming from Killeen. For those not familiar with the location, there is a Bushes Chicken resturant and a Subway resturant near the highway entrance to the parking lot.
Staging will be from 0845-0915 with KSU NLT 0915 to meet the Lampasas staging. Please contact me with any questions or concerns at (254) 458-5993.

My condolences to the family of SPC Donald Burkett and to his friends. And I hope and pray that God will give them the strength needed to make it through this time of sorrow.
It will be an honor for me to stand for this hero, and hopefullly I will be able to be there for both, the escort on wednesday and the funeral on friday.

Notice to those who plan to ride the escort mission on Friday from Early to Killeen.

It is approximately 110 miles from the point of departure in Early to the Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen. Plan your fuel accordingly. From what I've seen posted so far, there will be no stops enroute to Killeen.

Harry that was a good thing about the fuel, but if they fill up in Early before the escort fuel should not be a problem, and everyone should know the limitations of his or her bike. And if your bike won't go 110 miles I would suggest you get a different one, There will be enough time before departure from Early to allow those who need fuel to get some.
