I received this e-mail yesterday from Gerald Schmalzried.
Dear Riders,
What a privilege it was for me to watch you in action at my friend Bern Jackson's memorial service today. Seeing all of you turned out with American flags to pay your respect for a veteran you've probably never met had me choked up before I even got inside.
I've been assured that anything I might say to a grieving family at a funeral isn't that critical. What's more important is the fact that I showed up.
As you have time and time again, today you showed up.
I am encouraged to witness such a generous act of honor and respect. Thanks for all you do.
