Patriot Guard Riders Mission Statement
The Patriot Guard Riders is a diverse amalgamation of riders from across the nation. We have one thing in common besides motorcycles. We have an unwavering respect for those who risk their very lives for America’s freedom and security. If you share this respect, please join us.
We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn't matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.
Our main mission is to attend the funeral services of fallen American heroes as invited guests of the family. Each mission we undertake has two basic objectives.
- 1. Show our sincere respect for our fallen heroes, their families, and their communities.
- 2. Shield the mourning family and their friends from interruptions created by any protester or group of protesters.
We accomplish the latter through strictly legal and non-violent means.
To those of you who are currently serving and fighting for the freedoms of others, at home and abroad, please know that we are backing you. We honor and support you with every mission we carry out, and we are praying for a safe return home for all.

 | Heights High 9/11 Ride | |
 | Its that time again when Harker Heights High extends our request for the Patriot Riders to honor us with their support of our 9/11 ride/walk- It will be the same as last year- for those of you that could not make it last year- we start lining up at 7:30an in the school’s parking lot- Bikes first, student behind. The vent starts at 8am and usually ends at 8:30. The pace is slow, because we have students walking behind us. The route is very short for the same reason. The Ft Hood Harley guys suggested an after event breakfast run to Pa Pa’s café in HH. Last year it rained but we rode anyway- I say this because the forecasters, or guessers, warn of a slight chance of rain again. 9/11/2008 7:30am Harker Heights High For info Call David Smith (FXSTC) at 501-0808 or my secretary at 501-2341. | | | | |
 | PAtriot Guard Rider Down! | |
 | Riders, this is from J.D. who is the Lead Ride Captain for San Antonio. Some of you may have met "Hoss', and he needs your thoughts and prayers now. He is in Brackenridge Hosp. here in austin. Sam My fellow Patriot Guard Riders, Dan, aka Hoss, US Military Vets MC, was involved in a motorcycle accident early Sunday morning in Austin. Many know him from the functions he attends around town, but don't forget the PGR missions he has attended. He is stable in ICU. We were relieved that it wasn't as bad as we were lead to believe during initial phone calls. It's still bad, but we are much more optimistic. He has a minor fracture of the C7 that should not need surgery. No bleeding, contusions, or swelling of the brain was detected. He has facial fractures on the left side of his head that will require surgery once the swelling goes down. Our biggest concern is the aspiration pnuemonia that developed from him being unconcious at the scene. He is being kept sedated but during time when sedation has weakened, he has been responsive and moves his toes and fingers. Please keep Dan, his family, and his friends in your prayers. | | | | |
 | Fort Hood Motorcycle Mentorship Ride | |
 | Fellow Riders, I just received a call from SFC Prime of III Corps and Fort Hood inviting as many Patriot Guard Riders as can attend to a Fort Hood Motorcycle Mentorship Ride happening on Friday, 7 November 2008. This ride will consist of approximately 1,500-2,000 Active duty motorcyclists and as many Patriot Guard Riders as can attend. The expected Route will start at III Corps Headquarters, exit Fort Hood through the main gate on Hwy 190 and proceed east to Bell County Expo Center. Once at the Expo Center, we will break into smaller groups led by PGR members riding north up FM Road 317 to Hwy 36 to Gatesville where we will stop for fuel (if needed), then ride West Range Road back to Fort Hood. This will be a fantastic opportunity for us to show our support for the soldiers of Fort Hood and to foster friendships with the new III Corps Commander and Sergeants Major. Here’s what we need from our membership: Attendance! If it’s possible for you to attend this ride, please mark your calendar and come one out. The III Corps Commander is working to ensure that we will not have a problem getting access onto Fort Hood. They are rewriting the Motorcycle Safety Regulations and Policies to help us get on Fort Hood without having to meet all the safety requirements and/or spend money for classes and gear. However, I imagine a helmet will be a requirement to ride on Fort Hood. Mark your Calendars. Leave your name on the thread if you are willing to volunteer to be a Road Captain for this event. You will need to be available the weekend prior to the event to proof the route. Steve “Scout” Cole | | | | |
