SR Marlin “Pretty Boy” “Poppy” Merrell, 81, US Navy, Korean War Veteran, Killeen, TX
The family of Seaman Recruit Marlin Merrell has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Interment of their Loved One.
Marlin was born on May 27, 1934 to Lewis and Mossie in Morton’s Gap, KY. He was one of 14 children. He joined the navy and served our country in the Korean War. Marlin attended Purdee University, Trinity Seminary. And graduated from Rhema Bible College in 2000. Marlin and his wife sue pioneered Open Door Church where they built a community of believers. He was also an entrepreneur owning M&M Enterprises. Marlin was an avid fisherman, gardener, and was a founding member of Destiny World Outreach Center. Over the years Marlin’s love for Jesus led him to win many souls for the Kingdom of God. His legacy lives on through his family, who all serve in many facets of ministry, and also in the lives that his spiritual leader ship has changed. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: Mostly sunny, with a high near 97. Calm wind becoming east around 5 mph in the afternoon.
Note: Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
