HONOR MISSION
Col Everett Wayne Truxal, 86, US Air Force, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Legion of Merit/Distinguished Flying Cross (1OLC)/Bronze Star Recipient, OF Georgetown, TX

The family of Colonel Everett Truxal has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.

Colonel Truxal enlisted in the US Air Force in December, 1950 and went through Basic Training at Lackland AFB, SATX. He entered the Aviation Cadet Program in 1952 at Marana, AZ and received his wings and commission a year later at Webb AFB, Big Spring, TX. During his 30 year career, he was an instructor pilot and later flew fighters, bombers and cargo aircraft, with the 6-engine B-47 Bomber as his favorite. He accumulated 4990 flying hours in various planes and flew 478 combat missions in Southeast Asia. His tours of duties were throughout the United States, Europe and Southeast Asia. Everett served in many roles within the Strategic Air Command; was a member of the Inspector General Team and retired from Williams AFB, AZ as Deputy Commander for Maintenance. He was awarded over twenty medals and ribbons, including the Legion of Merit, Distinguished Flying Cross with Oak Leaf Cluster and Bronze Star. Wayne retired in 1979 to Georgetown, TX, became an avid golfer and liked gardening and yard work. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends living life to its fullest and will be fondly remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather. Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 SH 195, Killeen, Texas 76542 (http://tinyurl.com/CenTexVetsCeme)

Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession from Georgetown, TX.

WX: Mostly sunny, with a high near 83. North northwest wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Notes:

1. Be at staging ON TIME.

2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
