CSM Thomas Jon Edmundson, 71, US Army, Retired, Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield, Legion of Merit and Bronze Star Recipient, Harker Heights, TX
The family of Command Sergeant Major Thomas Edmundson has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral and Committal Services of their Loved One.
Tom proudly served in the US Army for 30 years, including during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm, as well as duty assignments that took him around the world to places like Germany and Korea. He earned numerous awards and decorations including the Legion of Merit and Bronze Star. He was also awarded the Distinguished Ancient Order of Saint Barbra, Patron Saint of Field Artillery. Furthermore, he earned a Bachelor in Science from Northwood University and his Masters from Central Michigan University. After his military retirement, he settled with his wife in Harker Heights. Thomas worked for the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Veterans Service Representative, retiring for the second time on December 31, 2016. He loved the Dallas Cowboys, and has been a season ticket holder since 2000. He also experimented with the sport of golf, and enjoyed family gatherings. Flagline Establishment: 1125 +/- Once the Funeral Service begins; we will strike the flagline and prepare to participate in the procession to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.
Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 SH 195, Killeen, Texas 76542 (http://tinyurl.com/CenTexVetsCeme)
Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession from the Heritage Funeral Home in Harker Heights.
WX: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 87. South wind around 10 mph.

2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
