SSG William "Willie" Arthur Hanson, 77, US Army, Retired, Copperas Cove Volunteer Firefighter, Copperas Cove, TX
The family of Staff Sergeant William Hanson has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral and Committal Services of their Loved One.
William served 20 years in the US Army as a reservist and active duty before retiring in April 1980 at the rank of Staff Sergeant. During his service he traveled around the world including serving in Vietnam and earned several commendation for his service. He then went on to work for DOL Maintenance at Ft Hood in the Component Repair Department. He retired from DOL in March of 2009. Willie had a passion for fighting fires and served the community of Copperas Cove for many years as a volunteer firefighter with the Copperas Cove Fire Department.
