LtCol Robert C Sawyer, 84, US Air Force, Retired, OF Austin, TX
The family of Lieutenant Colonel Robert C Sawyer has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
After graduating from Texas A & M, Bob received his commission into the US Air Force as Second Lieutenant. During his time on active duty, Bob served in Strategic Air Command flying KC97 Midair Refuelers. After completing his active time in service, Bob moved his growing family to Houston, where he entered the Civil Service as a Federal Agent with the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) of the IRS. He was eventually promoted to Chief of CID which moved him to Austin. Simultaneously, Bob served in the USAF Reserves in the Office of Special Investigations. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, be briefed and await arrival of the procession from Austin.
WX: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. North northeast wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph
Notes:
1. WARNING: Thunderstorms are forecast. IF thunder is heard in the area, all members will quietly replace their flags and proceed to the inside of the shelter until 30 minutes has passed since the last sound of thunder. This procedure applies to ALL missions if thunderstorms are present.
2. Be at staging ON TIME.
3. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
