SGT Robert Lynn Carter, US Army and US Army Reserves, Retired, Operation Desert Shield Veteran, Lifetime Member VFW and ALR, OF Waco, TX
The family of Sergeant Robert Carter has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Robert enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Frankfurt, Germany and served active duty from 1972-1975. He served in the Army Reserves, 348th Engineering Battalion From 1975-1995. During his time in the reserves, he was called into active duty twice, once being to serve in Operation Desert Shield in the Gulf War. After his active duty service Robert worked as a mechanic in Waco for 30 years, acting as Shop Foreman for Bird Kultgen Ford for 21 years. He enjoyed the outdoors and loved bass fishing. He also greatly enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle with friends. One of his greatest passions however, was serving the veterans of Central Texas. He volunteered his time and energy at the Central Texas Veterans One Stop, Chairman of the Gulf War Group, Chairman of the Veterans Advisory Committee, Waco Task Force to Save the VA Medical Center, Commander of the VFW Post 2034, Commander of the American Legion 1212, a charter member and chaplain of the American Legion Riders, and Board Member of the American Legion. He also organized the annual Veteran’s Day parade in Waco for the past several years. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and RETURN TO THE GATE TO ESCORT THE FAMILY TO THE SHELTER.
WX: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 7am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 64. Light west northwest wind becoming north 15 to 20 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 30 mph.

1. Be at staging ON TIME.
2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
