HONOR MISSION
MSG Robert “Bob” Plante, 91, US Navy/Air Force, Retired, WWII/Korea/Vietnam Veteran, OF Georgetown, TX

The family of Master Sergeant Robert "Bob" Plante has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.

Upon graduation from high school in Detroit, Plant enlisted in the US Navy and served in the Asian Pacific theater during WWII from 1944-1949. He enlisted in the US Air Force in 1949, where he had a distinguished career traveling the world. He was a radio operator on various aircrafts, including the B-17, B-29, B-19, and C-47. Based on his service record, he was recommended and accepted into the Air Attaché Intelligence service in 1957, and was assigned to the US Embassy in Rome, Italy. He received many medals and commendation letters for his dedication and service to the Air Force. He was especially proud of his commendation letters from: the Rome Embassy Ambassador Zellerbach and his wife, Mrs Zellerbach; Mr and Mrs Bryant Boatner from Eaton Manufacturing Company for his service to them while they were in Rome; and a letter from Colonel R A Knobloch with special thanks from President Dwight Eisenhower for assisting him while he was in Italy. Plant retired from active duty in 1966. His entire obituary may be found here: http://www.ramseyfuneral.com/obituary/robert-plante
