SPC Paul Brooks, 53, US Army, Veteran ODS & ODS, OF Austin, TX
The family of Specialist Paul Brooks has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One. For any members interested in attending the Austin portion of this mission, see their information posted at the bottom.
Paul served in the US Army from 1984 to 1992 and was a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He participated in the Liberation of Kuwait and was part of the First Brigade Battle Task Force, Dragon Battalion, First Brigade, First Calvary Division, leaving the Army as a Specialist E-4. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph becoming east southeast in the afternoon.
Notes:
1. Be at staging ON TIME.
2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.

Confirmed Mission: The Patriot Guard Riders have been invited to participate in the funeral and burial services for Mr. Paul Brooks. Mr. Brooks served in the US Army from 1984 to 1992 and was a veteran of Operation Desert Shield and Operation Desert Storm. He participated in the Liberation of Kuwait and was part of the First Brigade Battle Task Force, Dragon Battalion, First Brigade, First Calvary Division, leaving the Army as a SPC E-4.
Paul was also a close friend of former Austin Ride Captain Andy Lough.
Date/Time: Friday, 05 April 2019. Funeral service set to begin at 10 am.
Location: Cook Walden Funeral Home Chapel of the Hills, 9700 Anderson Mill Rd, Austin, TX 78750. This locations is one block west of the Hwy 183/Anderson Mill Rd intersection. We will stage at the funeral home.

Notes: Bring a bottle of water for yourself and one for a friend. Arrive fed and fueled. After the start of the funeral service we will strike the flag line and standby to join the law enforcement escorted procession to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen where we will stand a second flag line for the 1 pm interment service. Upon arrival at CTSVC we will fall under the direction of the Centex PGR ride captain.
