SFC Roy Smith, 76, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, OF Copperas Cove, TX
The family of Sergeant First Class Roy Smith has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Drafted into the United States Army in September of 1965, Roy served his country with pride and distinction. He was very especially proud of the fact that he was Supernumerary of the Guard on his twenty first birthday while in Advanced Individual Training at Fort Ord, California. After serving twenty years in the Army with tours in Wurzburg, Germany, VungTau VietNam, DaNang Viet Nam; Vicenza, Italy, and Kaiserslautern Germany, Roy retired as a Sergeant First Class. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: A 20 percent chance of showers after 1300. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. South wind 5 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
