LTC Maynard Ray Myers, 89, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Silver Star/Bronze Star Recipient, OF Austin, TX
The family of Lieutenant Colonel Maynard Rays Myers has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Maynard graduated high school and decided he wanted to have a career in the military. He was a Combat Veteran of the Vietnam War, was a Forward Observer for the Artillery and saw action over the whole peninsula. He survived two helicopter crashes, multiple engagements including the Tet Offensive and was reported missing in action three different times. During that time, he earned the Silver Star, the Bronze Star, and various other medals. Maynard continued his career in the Army for a total of thirty two years with an honorable discharge and retired. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
