Sgt Jack Lyman Nelson Jr, 79, US Marine Corps, Vietnam Veteran, (2x) Purple Heart Recipient, of Copperas Cove, TX
The family of Sergeant Jack Nelson Jr has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Procession and Committal Services of their Loved One.
In 1964, Jack joined the United States Marine Corps and upon completing his basic training he went aboard Ship on deployment. While in the Marine Corps he received The National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal w/device, Vietnam Service Medal w/2 Purple Hearts, Combat Action Ribbon, Rifle Sharpshooter Badge, and Presidential Unit Citation. After becoming one hundred percent disabled, he was discharged from the Military with an Honorable Discharge. Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 SH 195, Killeen, TX 76542 (http://tinyurl.com/CenTexVetsCeme)
Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: Sunny, with a high near 80. South wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

1. Be at stagingS ON TIME.
2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
3. Only PGR motorcycles will be permitted in this procession.
