MAJ Gordon Bacon, 86, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Bronze Star Recipient, of Killeen, Texas
The family of Major Gordon Bacon has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.
Commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the Army in 1963, Gordon served two tours in Vietnam and one in Korea, and retired as a Major in September 1984. He received several medals during his career, including the Bronze Star Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Meritorious Service Medal with one oak leaf cluster, Air Medal, Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry w/palm, and, and the Korean Medal of Honor. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
WX: Sunny, with a high near 97. Heat index values as high as 101. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.

2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
