HONOR MISSION
CPT Tommy Edmonson, 82, US Army, Vietnam Veteran, Purple Heart/Bronze Star Recipient, Patriot Guard Rider, of Georgetown, TX


The family of Captain Tommy Edmonson has requested the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Committal Service of their Loved One.

Tommy was commissioned in the US Army Infantry Branch after graduation and eventually became a Huey Instructor Pilot. He was assigned as the Second Platoon Leader with Apache Troop 7/1 Air Cavalry: call sign "Apache 26". While serving in Vietnam and Korea as a Captain, he was a combat helicopter pilot, and was awarded several medals and commendations, including the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal. Tommy was a member of the Vietnam Helicopter Pilots Association and the Patriot Guard Riders in both Baton Rouge and Round Rock, Texas. Staging Location: The cul-de-sac between the Walk of Heroes and the Memorial Shelter at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery, 11463 SH 195, Killeen, TX 76542 (http://tinyurl.com/CenTexVetsCeme)

Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.

WX: A chance of showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 1300. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 84. South wind 10 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Notes:

1. Be at staging ON TIME.

2. Hydrate well prior, bring water for yourself and a buddy and dress with consideration of the weather conditions.
