Volunteers with Alaska Airlines in Seattle are building a patriotic transfer cart for the San Antonio International Airport (SAT) and will be used for the dignified transfer of fallen soldiers and veterans from aircraft to a funeral home vehicle. A group of riders escorting the cart will travel from SEA-TAC, WA, May 10, 2023, and arrive in Ontario, CA, May 13 to participate in 2023 Run for the Wall (RFTW) Southern Route. RFTW Southern Route will arrive in Grand Prairie, TX on May 20 at approximately 1700 hours. The riders and the transfer cart will respectfully exit the RFTW Southern Route on Sunday, May 21 and begin their way south to San Antonio arriving approximately 1700 hours. The cart will be turned over to designated individuals at a formal ceremony to be held at 1100 hours on May 22, 2023. Texas PGR riders will accompany the movement of this group through the heartland of Texas to its destination. There will be about 10-12 riders from the SEA-TAC area that will be with us.
NOTE: Any rider may ride partially or all the way, however, please enter the procession at one of the waypoints rather than just slip in. Safety is of paramount importance. We will be traveling at highway speeds so Big Flags will not be flown except possibly when arriving at Luckenbach and the Embassy Suites in San Antonio. Water will be provided. Escort is provided by Thin Blue Line LEMC. If you're interested in riding from the North Texas starting point, the information is here: https://www.northtxpgr.org/event/fallen-soldier-cart-pony-express/?eID=53696
We don’t care what you ride or if you ride, what your political views are, or whether you’re a hawk or a dove. It is not a requirement that you be a veteran. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what your income is; you don’t even have to ride. The only prerequisite is Respect.
