INVITATION TO PGR MEMBERS
2014 Wreath Laying/Escort/Retrieval at CTSVC

Members,

I've been receiving many requests concerning the 2014 Wreath Laying at Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery.

This year the PGR will not provide a separate staging time & location for our members. We are all invited to participate as representatives of the PGR under the direction of the event leaders. The following information is provided for your convenience. Feel free to meet with all other bikers and car clubs at the Killeen Special Events Center at the date/time indicated below, use the public transportation being provided, or just show up at the cemetery to participate.

This is one of our area's most worthwhile traditional holiday events and I encourage everyone to participate if you're able.

Mare

P.S. Remember to bring a little change for donations, pins & shirts!

From: http://www.wreathsforvets.org/wreath-escorts-motorcycle-and-car-clubs/

"Below is the information for motorcycle and car clubs who desire to escort the truck with the wreaths in it and lead it to the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery on Saturday, Nov 29, 2014.

The escort will leave from the Killeen Special Events Center at 3301 South WS Young Dr. Motorcycles and cars can start showing up at 8 a.m., and our police escort starts at 8:40. The Knights of Columbus from St Paul Chong Hasang Catholic Church in Harker Heights will provide free breakfast burritos. Once at the cemetery, we help unload the trailer, then wait briefly for the opening ceremony that begins at 10 a.m. Laying of the wreaths at each Veteran’s grave begins immediately following. Return is on your own.

We can use volunteers for parking at both locations, unloading the truck, and laying the wreaths."

No Paul there isn't. In previous years they've allowed the families who have someone buried there to go first, then they allow everyone else to take wreaths to the rest of the graves. You do have a choice to simply go where you want to place them, i.e.; Columbarium or any gravesite/area you prefer.

Hope to see you there!
