CW3 Ronald Long Sr, 88, US Army, Retired, Vietnam Veteran, Bronze Star Recipient
The family of Chief Warrant Officer Third Class Ronald A Long Sr has requested the presence and participation of the Patriot Guard Riders at the Funeral and Committal Services of their Loved One.
Ron proudly served his country for over 20 years as a Tank Mechanic in the U.S. Army, including two tours in Vietnam (1965–1966 and 1969–1970). His distinguished military career earned him numerous commendations, including the Bronze Star Medal with Oak Leaf Cluster, Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, and the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry with Palm, among many others. Following his retirement, he continued to serve his community for 22 years at the Fort Hood Auto Craft Shop, generously sharing his mechanical expertise with Soldiers. Setup & Briefing: Upon clearance and at the direction of the Ride Captain, we will move to the shelter, set up the flags, be briefed and await arrival of the procession.
